Cute Froggy Gift Bags

Ok.  I realize it's been a loooong time since my last post but I have been super busy with... well... life.  You know, mom, wife, the whole bit, but this year I am trying to make sure I give myself a little more time to do things that make me happy.  In light of this, I would like to share some cute gift bags I made for my son's 1st birthday party.

Here's What You'll Need....

  • Gift Bags
  • 12 X 12 scrapbook paper
  • A Frog Stencil
  • A Pack of Large Googly Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Hot Glue Gun w/ Glue Sticks

My son had a frog theme for his first birthday party.  You would be surprised how difficult it was to find cute frog accessories for a birthday party.  I couldn't find frog gift bags that I liked anywhere so I decided to make my own.

Here's How You Make It...
  1. Turn the scrapbook paper face-down and trace the frog on to the back side of the scrapbook paper so that you don't have any ugly lines on the front.
  2. Carefully cut the frog out with scissors and, after figuring out exactly how you want it positioned, glued it down to the giftbag using regular glue.  Allow the glue atleast three minutes to dry.
  3. Using your hot glue gun, glue a googly eye onto the frog.  You only need a small little drop.  Hold the eye down for about ten seconds to make certain that the glue sets.  Glue down the second eye using this same step.
  4. Repeat with as many bags as you need

Pretty simple, right...  the more bags you need, the more time consuming it can be cutting all those frogs out.  If you have a die cutting machine with a frog shape, it could probably save you a lot of time.
